The Place, National Dance Agency for London, has announced the entrants into this years, bi-annual, Place Prize competition that will take Place (geddit?) an excruciating number of times over the coming several months with the winner announced in September.
The entrants are;
"Alex Broadie, Mark Bruce, Tom Dale, Fleur Darkin, Maxine Doyle and Felix Barrett, Sarah Fahie, Henrietta Hale, Louise Katerega, Rachel Lopez de la Nieta and Ben Ash, Jonathan Lunn, Cathy Marston, Jane Mason, Anh Ngoc Nguyen, Freddie Opoku Addaie, Tanya Raman, Nina Rajarani, Sonia Sabri, Luca Silvestrini, Lucy Suggate, Ben Wright."
Each dance maker will be given £5,000 to create their piece which will then go on to be voted for by members of the audience, beyond that the rules are a mystery to us.
The eventual winner will get £25,000 which they can spend on bottles of Coke, pot plants and chocolate!
More information is available on either Londondance.com or The Place's less than impressive new website, both suspiciously carry the exact same information! We smell a conspiracy and apologise profusely for the less than professional manner of this particular news report!
