We first featured footage from Vincent Dance Theatre's 'Broken Chords' over a year ago along with our second video interview with Charlotte Vincent. This coming January the work takes to the stage again to kick off the company's winter tour of this heady mixture of dance, drama and comedy.

Back in the day there was a time when you couldn't watch a contemporary dance work without any chairs in it. 'Broken Chords' takes that to the extreme with over 100 of the things inhabiting the stage and more than a few of them have come to grief of the lifetime of this particular piece.

The company says of their work;

"Set amongst rows of wooden chairs, with a huge chandelier hanging overhead, Broken Chords is a visually striking, hilarious portrait of breaking up and breaking down by an international, multi-tasking ensemble of performers.

Heartbreaking in its honesty, full of dark humour, sublime dancing and playful theatricality, Broken Chords shifts effortlessly between the bleakly comic and the beautifully tragic, charting the director's devastating divorce with rebellious and hysterical results."

Throw some original live music into the mix and what you have is something that's all good. 'Broken Chords' begins touring again at the brand new Playhouse Theatre (well it's sort of brand new) in Newcastle upon Tyne on January 19th 2007.

This video is from a performance from November of 2005 and at that time the cast was; T.C. Howard, Aurora Lubos, Patrycja Kujawska, Janusz Orlik, Lee Clayden, Alexandru Catona, Darren Anderson and Eleanor McDonald.

'Broken Chords' will continue to tour throughout 2007, check the company's website for further details.
