'Drop the idea of becoming someone because you are already a masterpiece. You cannot be improved. You have only to come to it, to know it, to realise it.'

'When I figured out what I wanted I didn't doubt for one second that I wouldn't get to where I wanted to be. It didn't even cross my mind that it wouldn't happen.'

Strong and bold words to say I know but it's a conversation I was having with my best friend.. These are her words but I totally feel the same way. She's a drama teacher and has changed the way drama is taught in her school. She has increased grades, made drama twice as exciting, provides extra rehearsal and tutoring time. She has introduced productions which she puts on every term, and she has made head of department within 2 years of qualifying as a teacher. (Oh and one of her students is Isaac Hempstead-Wright). But before all this happened she went to university, traveled the world, helped to build a school in africa, has worked for Camp America, spent a year working in a school in Australia and has had a short time working in film editing. She has recently bought herself a new apartment, a beautiful cat and is currently working on her masters... and she's only 27.

I remember watching Stomp when I was 19 thinking.. I wanna to do that, that not all but I saw the she once a year from the age of 8... It might have been in the back of my mind somewhere.

So we were talking about what it would feel like to train in something and not quite get to where you want to be with it, or after training in something for so long realising at the end that its not what you want... Or even worse being somebody who doesn't really have an ambition and goes along with whatever. Not much of a forward thinker, y' know those people who say that they are chilled and laid back when the truth is they don't know what they want, and probably don't need to know because their future is quite stable.

I always had a dream of where I wanted to be and where I wanted to go. Do we all have that dream or just some of us? Do you change your dream to what is happening around you or did you have something that you wanted for yourself all along and then got it... or you're still waiting?

I've never had a back up though and I'm not from a family that could provide one.... So obviously this conversation made me think that maybe I should start thinking about one as it has never seriously crossed my mind... I've always put my mind to something and made sure I got it. Is that a bad thing? and is it just luck?

Do we know in our deep down what the outcome of our success is going to be? Deep down do we know if we are going to make it or not? Do we start the race subconsciously knowing if we are in chance of getting a medal? Because you know (and I'm telling you) you know if you're good enough to make it or not, it's just whether your willing admit the truth to yourself (whether it be good or bad, and without being modest or arrogant) because the thing is..in this industry your friends and family are always going to tell you your amazing but what you believe will always overcome anything that anybody else says. So that gun goes of and you run like crazy... do you still run your nuts off knowing that you are going to come last?

When you feel totally worthy, when you know you deserve it, you know you're ready and you really want it it will come to you... But it will come to you when it needs to and it will leave when it must, at least this is what I am beginning to believe.

Nothing you want to have will last forever but forever is nothing if you don't have anything you want...at least once.

I guess what I'm trying to say is don't doubt yourself in anything you do and commit to everything you decide upon 100% no pretending you have to be fully open and honest. If you want it and know you can have it, it will be yours, it takes a confidence and a knowing, you can't feel like you can have it...you can't feel like you deserve it. You have to know. Life is too short to pretend.

Don't take it though, if you take it, it will never be yours. You can change it to be what you want it to be to you but be aware that anything you take can be taken from you. Trust that everything happens exactly when it is suppose to if its suppose to happen it will...

We all know in our heads if we are good dancers or not just like you know if you are a good person or not. You know exactly what you are like. You know if you are an honest person, you know how many lies you tell, you know if you're hiding behind something and you know in comparison to others if you are a nice person or not. So therefore you know if you are cheating your turn out, you know if you need to work on stuff, and you know by comparison and experience where your strengths and weaknesses lie. Don't just take what people say...be your own judge, be honest with yourself and be honest in your work and follow that dream. Don't tread lightly, don't swim against the tide, pay it forwards, stay humble and stay confident.
