The new year is kicking off with a lot of touring from companies old and new, well mostly old but there must be some new companies touring out there so if you're one of them let us know and will put you on the list.
Vincent Dance Theatre, Shobona Jeyasingh, Motionhouse, Protein, Maresa von Stockert and Ultima Vez all kick off this month with works new and revived, touring across the country for the next few months.
Vincent Dance Theatre are re-touring 'Broken Chords' along with some experimental new pieces including a solo called 'Test Run' performed by Janusz Orlik with live music by Patrycja Kujawska and Matt Howden.
Motionhouse Dance Theatre re-enter the touring fray with 'Driven' premiering at Warwick Arts Centre on January 26th. Expect more of their signature fast paced movement combined with excellent music.
Shobona Jeyasingh's company will premiere a brand new work called 'Faultline' along with 'Exit No Exit' at The Hawth in Crawley before touring around England for the next couple of months. We've yet to get this company on Article19 but maybe we can nab them this year.
Ultima Vez are taking their signature brand of crazy across the UK with 'Spiegel' the latest piece from the company's director Wim Vandekybus. You can expect to have your senses assaulted to saturation point if past experience is anything to go by.
Scottish Dance Theatre are bringing us two brand new pieces along with some older rep work starting on February 22nd in Dundee. 'Angels of Incidence' by Andam Bejamin will tour with works by Vanessa Haska and Diana Loosmore as well as old favourites from Liv Lorent and Janet Smith. SDT will also be moving into large scale touring for one day only when they tackle the Festival Theatre in Edinburgh on April 27th.
Finally, Protein are taking 'Big Sale' on the road again starting with Hextable Dance (which is a real place) on January 13th and ending at LIPA in Liverpool on March 20th.
