Making Resolutions

The Latest News || Monday, 23 July, 2007

If you're a dance maker and have £333 + VAT (17.5%) laying around the place then it may be a good idea to make an application to Resolution, The Place's annual dance jamboree held once a year in January.

Applications are open once again and making one is as simple as filling out the form online at the Place's website, which you have to register to do, follow all of the criteria, come up with the cash, which does not have to be paid in advance, justify your work, get to London for a meeting and throw coconuts at a monkey! (we made up the last one)

The festival has a number of "levels" depending on what type of applicant you are. The money is a "hire" fee for the theatre - you share each night with two other companies - but if you make enough money from ticket sales then you won't owe anything.

If however your show bombs and nobody comes then John Ashford will be waiting for you at the stage door with a rubber truncheon looking for the cash.

More info on the Place's website.
