because xdsn maps both bones and limbs it will not fit all avatar configuration. for ease of use and mapping two walk scripts have been created: the joint script and the limb script. Unlike xstep the two scripts exclude the upper torso, this allows for freedom of the upper body whilst in motion. if a natural arm movement is needed an script can be used along side the walk script to achieve the desired effect.
rather than putting up both scripts I will present the joint script alone. the limb script is a development of the joint scripts bust should be considered separately.
the above code is given only as a basic structure. you will notice that there are no impulse elements etc etc. if you examine the actions whilst walking you should be able to work out both potential values for the impulse elements and how the script works in principle.
as you can see from the code the
this is a list of the xml markup languages that could be used for dance notation I have found to date:
I do not believe that any of these notations currently fulfil the needs of the dance community for the purposes of notation. further I consider that xdsn offers a more accurate, flexible method of avatar animation than the notations previously developed.
note: the xdsn script is a single step cycle that ends to an open position. to bring the legs together a close step 'cycle' or script is needed. to continue walking the left side step scripts is used and alternates or cycles with the right hand script.
