got myself a gmail account, big thanks to Cheah Chu Yeow who sent me the invite. now I can get all those 4mb pdf's of thesis and papers sent to me directly, neato!
so I got it wrong, Article19 does has a forum, you can use it without needing to sign in. it's good to see that it has been there and I hope it's usage picks up as there a many issues brought up by this site that would not see the light of day otherwise.
i'm working away on my presentation 'Towards Computer Generated Choreography: Epikinetic Composition' and things are motoring along. here is an overview of the chorea system, an epikinetic application for autonomous improvising avatars. think of it as an advanced version of danceforms that choreographs for itself:
the eu-gene mailing list has be busy over the last 24 hours with discussion on 'Software Art After Programming' and 'tools and media'. similar p.o.v. have been discussed on the dtz list from time to time. whilst not partaking in the debate it has been a fascinating read. what struck me was the similarly between flash and danceforms, they are both used buy so many people to create poor work. I can count on one hand the number of good danceform animations / choreographies I have seen. and that's kinda sad...
