Something called Resolution! this way comes

It's been a little while since I had a good chance to write something so I'm doing it now while I'm cosy on the couch in a duvet!

The past two weeks were very busy. The first week, I was working with Lucy Boyes in collaboration with a musician/sound engineer and a photographer. It was a really great week of research, what we created and showed at the end of the week was recieved very well.

We were working alot with the organs and the body, a really physcial and biological piece, you could say.

The second week was with Choreographer, Madira Gregureck. We were working with the idea of 'Surla'. Surla is a word used in Croatia for a strogn man, the strongest man in the village, someone who has all the power, everyone is afraid of him, he could kill someone and no one would question it.

It was a long but interesting week, very different from the previous week, Madira is a wonderful and exotic woman, a Goddess.

Ok, so here we go. It's only 5 days away until we perform at Resolution! We have a rehearsal today and someone coming to watch, for an outside eye, it is essential. The next few days are crucial in terms of how we know the piece and and what it is. We are really pushing the piece and ourselves within it, aswell as perfection in terms of structural things and unison.

I'm not sure how it will be recieved, and I don't mind how it will be recieved. I am trying to focus on only myself and Svenja, otherwise it will become unneccsarily stressful. Anyway, watch this space.

We're leaving on Saturday and I'm pleased to say that we recieved funding from the Scottish Arts Council which is enabling us to attend Resolution!, seeing as we do live in Edinburgh! We are one of the only Scottish companies performing if not the only one?

So off we go, wish us luck, I'll be writing an entry on my return and maybe a sneaky little one whilst in London but we'll see.

Happy Resolving.

:)
