Today I took class with Errol White Dance.
They're currently in residence at Dance Base and today was their free open class as part of their residency.
It was a really simple and very technical class but it was incredible effective and essential. It's the kind of thing that we've all done thousands of times and after a while think that we don't need to do it because it's so simple and at times boring, but actually that's where we go wrong, I think.
Simple things are always the best and I love how effective it can be.
I'm going to be taking class with them as much as possible over the next week or so that will be very nice!
I'm on a search at the moment. I'm becoming bored. It sounds terrible but it's true. Moving forward is so important, I don't want to be stuck in a certain way doing certain things. I can feel it in my body that I need more. So I'm looking, and asking. And we'll see.
Lots of exciting things are beginning to happen. In may I'm going to London to work at Grange Park Opera on the Cunning Little Vixen, choreography by Ben Wright, I'm really excited, will be an experience, I'm sure!
As exciting things are beginning to happen I'm also beginning to question alot about myself as a dancer. I want and need to learn more, about the body, its function, how it functions and how to really work it and improve it, it's not easy.
I'll soon be putting up some photos of the residency I did at Dance Base, got some really beautiful moments caught on camera so look out for that.
:)
