It's a grand thing to get leave to live

So wow,

finally on a Sunday morning I have the energy and the time to write an entry.

The past 3 months have been VERY busy indeed, which for me is a wonderful thing and I'm happy about that.

I've just finished working with Ben Wright or rather collaborating with him on the creation of a solo. It's interesting how you have expectations of how things will be and then it changes, in that moment there could be a lot of fear or disappointment but actually you just have to take it for what it is. If it isn't what you expected it doesn't mean it's a failure but rather that the intention has just changed.

So in this case our intention changed from soley creating a solo work on me, it became something about Ben being a mirror for me and figuring out how he could help me and offer me something as a Dancer, Artist and choreographer.

I couldn't be happier with the result. EXCITING things are to come as a result. Check out some photies below of what was created.

Previously to the project with Ben, I was working with Jose Vidal Company in London. It was a really great project, incredibly intense, the end performance became 60 minutes of constantly being in contact with everyone else and never leaving the stage. Exhausting to say the least. I compared it to being on a treadmill whilst lifting weights, yes!

So now what happens, I'm incredibly aware of this idea of 'what now?'. It is a time in my life where lots of people are leaving, moving, shifting, things are changing and it is strangely exciting aswell as scary. Partly because I wonder what will become of us dancers and artists in this new government, however I know that there might not be any money but I DO KNOW that they WILL NOT stop me doing what I do, just you wait, I'll be performing in an abandonded warehouse near you soon.

So what is next? I can't give details at the moment but I have some really big things coming up for my work that are very exciting.

The next thing is performing in the Fringe with my friend, Lucy Boyes, her work is on at Dance Base and then I'll be performing one of my solos at Dance Base too. The Edinburgh festivals are so exciting, it really is the best time of the year for dance, I really can't wait.

Ooooo, and yesterday I bought some very nice (and expensive) running shoes. But I realised that being able to do some sort of training is VERY important. Sometimes I can't afford to go to class and sometimes I don't want to go to class because it isn't always relevant, so I invested in something that will allow me to train and have a connection with myself physcially anytime and anywhere I want. YES! Let's go!
