I'm back in London working with Jose Vidal Company. It's going very well, love everyone in the company, feels good to be around such great people.
We're very busy preparing for performanes at the Place as part of their 40th anniversary celebrations.
It all kicks off tomorrow! Tomorrow is the beginning of a 2 day event called Something Happening which is basically two days where the place is completely transformed in to a performance space with performances from lots of different companies, groups, stars, choreographers all in one building. It is VERY exciting!
All day tomorrow we have 2 performances and open rehearsals so i think it will be a day of many faces to see and meet and hopefully to see some old friends too.
The festival includes work and performances by Jane Dudley, Richard Alston Dance Company, Aletta Collins, Scottish Dance Theatre, B group (Ben Wright), my chum and fellow blogger, Sarah Blanc, Jose Vidal Company (that's me!), Ben ash, Henrietta Hale, Protien, Siobhan Davies, Yael Flexer, Rachel Krische Deborah Hay, Rick Nodine, Frauke Requardt and many many more!
Then next week we have more performances at the place as part of This Is The Place, an evering of work that tells the story and charts a history of dance at the Place. Directed by internationally celebrated choreographer Aletta Collins, the work includes extracts from seminal pieces by:
