Why ever not.....

I recently met with a friend of mine Lucy Foster Perkins (yes you guessed it..NSCD degree buddy) and she educated me on the wonder of Gauguin via the current exhibition of his work at The Tate Modern. Her boyfriend Jimmy asked me if I was currently auditioning etc and I said I haven't really been looking and when I do all the jobs are for men. After a little male bashing banter he suggested the following intriguing idea; if men could be dressed to play women in Shakespeare's time why couldn't female dancers dress to be men now? Hmmmm, perhaps I should start applying.....

In that case there must be loads of unfilled jobs...better get me man suit on....

  • We just filmed Tavaziva for a new feature piece. 7 female dancer vs 1 male dancer. The most accurate representation of the gender balance in dance as a whole in a single company, probably!
