Protein Dance (UK)

Luca Silvestrini's Protein is looking for experienced dancers and physical theatre performers with strong technique and contact work. Candidates must be familiar with working within a devising process and experienced in working with improvisation and text. Strong singing skills and experience are also required.

Successful candidates will be invited to a two-week research and development project in London from 24 November - 5 December towards Protein's new production in collaboration with composer Orlando Gough.

Salary is dependent on experience.

Vocab Dance Company (UK)

Vocab Dance Company is seeking 1 male dancer with break dance technique, and strong physicality to take part in a 3-week research & development period of a new outdoor work. Deadline for application: 25th July 2014

Applicants must demonstrate a high technical ability in a breakdance or Hip-Hop vocabulary. Contemporary trained dancers with such skills are encouraged to apply. Those applicants without formal training must demonstrate a track record of working professionally in theatre.

As well as this technical ability, it would be advantageous that any applicants have experience with use of voice, spoken word, using theatrical expression and working creatively by themselves and in a group.

Alesandra Seutin leads Vocab Dance Company. In this new outdoor work Seutin explores the theme of youth stereotypes within the inner city, the work is set on a Council Estate.
4th August- 18th August 2014 and 17-19 September 2014. Applicants must be free these dates.

As part of the audition invited applicants will be required to demonstrate their skills via a short freestyle or pre-prepared sequence.

Tilted Productions is looking for experienced performers to join the company for the development and touring of a new site-responsive outdoor piece, BELONGING(s). The work merges contemporary dance, object manipulation and physical theatre. 

12 weeks of rehearsal between September 2014 and April 2015 before a national and international tour from May to October 2015. 

Performers applying must be available: 15 to 28 September 2014, 19 October to 2 November 2014 and from the end of February until beginning October 2015.

The company is seeking experienced and open-minded contemporary dancers and jugglers, who beyond their technical expertise are keen to explore movement in dialogue with objects and landscapes; who have excellent improvisational skills; who enjoy working outdoors and with performers from a wide range of ages and backgrounds. 

Fee between £430 - £500 p/w depending on level of experience. Audition dates: Saturday 30 August 2014, 10am - 6pm (London). Call-back Sunday 31 August 2014, 10am - 6pm (London)

ROZBARK Dance and Movement Theatre in Bytom, announces an audition for the performance 'This Is Not a Love Song', choreography by Uri Ivgi and Johan Greben (Ivgi & Greben).

The audition will take place on 1st and 2nd September 2014, at 10.00 am, at the Dance and Movement Theatre ROZBARK, 29 Kilara Street in Bytom (Poland).

Rozbark Dance and Movement Theatre is looking for a versatile contemporary male dancer for the production. Contract from 3 September until 31 December 2014 with possible year contract until 31 August 2015.

The company is looking looking for very powerful male dancers with a minimum of 2 years performance experience since graduation, candidates should posses strong technical and performance skills and a broad experience including contemporary dance, ballet, floorwork and partnering.

Companhia Instável (Oporto, PT) is looking for 5 dancers (m/f) and 1 apprentice (m/f) for its 2015 new creation with the invited choreographer Gregory Maqoma (SA).

Dancers are required to be strong in contemporary dance, have a deep understanding of tradition, be open to research and improvisation, handle text and singing comfortably and be fully available during audition days and working periods.

Working periods will be scheduled between December 2014 and March 2015, in Portugal.

Room 2 Manoeuvre (UK)

Room 2 Manoeuvre is seeking 1 male dancer with strong break dance technique to perform as part of a duo in the piece "Box Fresh", that will tour as part of a double bill in Oct/Nov 2014.

Deadline for application: 5pm, Friday 8th August 2014, the job will be based in Edinburgh, Scotland. Applicants must demonstrate a high technical ability of Breakdance vocabulary such as top rock, foot work, freezes and power moves (you should at least be able to do a continuous windmill).

Formally trained dancers with such skills are encouraged to apply. Those applicants without formal training must demonstrate a track record of working professionally in theatre. As well as this technical ability, applicants should have experience of contact and partnering work, using theatrical expression and working creatively by themselves and in a group.

Basic acrobatic skills (round-off back flip, front/rear somersault) would be an advantage. As the work is already created, applicants must demonstrate an ability to learn material quickly and be prepared to invest some of their own personality into the work. There will be significant education activity associated with this tour. Applicants must demonstrate a track record in delivering classes/workshops in a range of contexts and be fully CRB/PVG Disclosure approved.

Box Fresh is a male dance duet that explores the theme of identity within hip hop. The work uses a mixture of breaking, contemporary and physical theatre to explore this theme. The work is both physical and subtle and requires this performance range from any applicant.  

6th October - 23rd November 2014.  Rehearsals in Edinburgh at The Brunton Theatre. Touring Scotland wide and England. Applicants must be free for these dates.

Fees and expenses: £450.00 p/w, travel, accommodation allowance & per diems on tour. If coming from outside the city (Edinburgh) Room 2 Manoeuvre will endeavour to assist you in finding suitable accommodation. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK and a responsible for the their own tax requirements.

The audition will be held on Thursday 21st August 2014 between 1pm and 5pm at the Brunton Theatre, Ladywell Way, Musselburgh, Edinburgh.

As part of the audition invited applicants will be required to demonstrate their skills via a short freestyle or pre-prepared sequence.

DV8 Physical Theatre (UK)

DV8 Physical Theatre's latest production, JOHN, co-produced by the National Theatre of Great Britain, will embark on a UK and international tour this summer through to Dec 2015.

While casting is almost complete, we're seeking 2 male dancers to join our existing company of performers. Applicants should be fluent in English, have strong contemporary dance technique, acting skills, the ability to deliver text convincingly and be willing to do either an understudy and/or main role. It is an advantage if you can do a British accent.

We encourage men of ALL different ages and body shapes to apply.

Contract starts - August 2014 until December 2015. Interested applicants must be available for the entire duration of the contract.

Tour dates include France, Hungary, Spain, Australia, USA and Canada, as well as an extended run at the National Theatre, London.

Date: Sunday 10th August. Class will start promptly at 10am, the call will finish at 2pm. Following the audition, some dancers may be recalled to take part in an intensive workshop from Tuesday 12th August to Saturday 16th August as part of ImPulsTanz.

Darren Pritchard Dance (UK)

Darren Pritchard is seeking two highly creative and capable male contemporary dancers with a minimum of 3 years professional dance training. Engagement is for a research and development period for a new dance and technology production. Professional experience is preferable.

Period of Employment is 5 weeks in between 6th October 2014 to the 7th November 2014
(this will take place in Manchester). The audition will take place on Saturday September 6th 2014 12pm -5pm at STUN STUDIO, Z-arts, 335 Stretford Rd, Manchester, M15 5ZA.

The audition will include a warm up class, followed by a taught routine, and a series of creative tasks.

La Veronal is auditioning for male dancers for the new project, which will be developed in 2015 in co-production with Spain, France and Germany. The working period will be between May and August 2015 (final dates to be confirmed) with possible extension for performances throughout the year.

James Wilton Dance (UK)

James Wilton is looking for male dancers for the re-casting and touring of the company's most recent work Last Man Standing as well as future projects throughout 2015. Last Man Standing, Wilton's first full length work, was choreographed in January 2014 and has just completed a 24 date tour.

Applicants should have excellent contemporary technique, floor work and partner work skills as well as at least two years of professional experience. Break-dancing, capoeira and gymnastic skills are desirable however not essential.

Rehearsals will take place in Cornwall/ Plymouth in January/February 2015 with touring continuing throughout the entirety of 2015 including substantial international touring. As part of the tour dancers may be offered teaching and youth choreography work.

All fee's will be above equity minimum rates.
