Vertigo is a contemporary dance company, offering a physical meeting place for artists and audience. Choreographer Joe Moran is holding a workshop-audition for male dancers for a national tour of his new triple-bill, Assembly. Dancers will be offered 7-week contracts and will be involved in the creation of new work. Rehearsals will take place in April 2014 towards the premiere at The Place in early May. The production will then tour nationally over 3 weeks, late October - mid November 2014.
Male dancers are sought with a background in improvisation, detailed technical approach, strong individual physicality and keen interest in the creation of new work.

Joe Moran creates bold and distinctive new works for galleries, theatres and public spaces. Recent commissions include Obverse, The Place Prize (2012), The Modulated Body, Ordovas (2013) and Subjet to Change, EDge (2014). As a dancer he has worked with choreographers Deborah Hay (US), Siobhan Davies (UK), Florence Peake (UK) and most recently Pontus Petterrson (Sweden).
Spill is an outdoor production choreographed by celebrated Australian Artist Shaun Parker, of Shaun Parker Company, originally created for the Cultural Olympiad as part of London Festival 2012.
Led by DanceXchange (dx), Spill will be touring to five festivals in 2014. To work alongside some of the original cast, we are seeking one male performer. Rehearsal and adaptation of the work will be led by Assistant Choreographer and Rehearsal Director Corey Baker.
Highly playful, at times teasingly comical, this is a cheeky dance celebration of the child within. Combining quirky, dynamic dance with high energy street gymnastics, the dancers in this performance blaze a colourful trail across the structures and landscapes of the playground. Each performance is unique as the show scrambles around, over, under and through swings, slides and roundabouts.
Duration of performance 30 minutes. 10-15 minutes on the apparatus // 15-20 minutes on the ground
Male dance theatre performer. This commission takes place outside in a park setting and needs performers who are willing to work in a non-traditional theatre environment with experience and confidence.
Performers must be versatile and have strong contemporary technique with high energy and ability to be agile with acrobatic tricks and flips, and specifically basketball tricks. See the Spill film to get an idea of the tricks and basketball (dancer wearing black joggers, hoodie and black and white trainers). Candidates must be available for the dates as listed below and be willing to stay in Birmingham for the rehearsal weeks.

Hofesh Shechter is seeking female and male dancers with significant experience of an international standard to join Hofesh Shechter Company full-time for a range of contracts over the coming season which will include the creation of new work, UK and international touring and participatory projects.

We are looking for a male performer who can develop dance and the character as a main role. The piece will be developed with a video artist, enjoying collaboration with other artists is also necessary.

Punchdrunk is looking for a dynamic female contemporary dancer with a playing age of 35 - 45 to take on a major role in their current UK production of The Drowned Man: A Hollywood Fable.
Punchdrunk is an award-winning theatre company, specialising in the immersive experience of unexpected locations and dramatic narrative. The company's work is usually presented on an epic scale, staged inside vast, empty buildings transformed into the world of the performance.

DV8 Physical Theatre is currently in research and development for a new theatre work based on interviews with men about sexuality/homosexuality.
The company is looking for one exceptional male dancer and one understudy who will play small onstage parts. Candidates should be versatile performers with strong contemporary dance technique, fluent in English, confident in delivering text, good under pressure and quick at learning material.
The production will be performed at the National Theatre, London, which is co-producing the work, and will tour to Sweden, Norway, Austria, Germany, France, Hungary, Spain, Australia, USA and Canada. The contract runs from March 2014, with an option to start in mid-June, through to December 2015.

Audition Call for professional dancers to work with choreographer John Ross on the 22 & 23 March, 2014 - London. John Ross is looking for experienced dancers to collaborate with him on the creation of a new work.
John is an emerging choreographic talent and one of the current recipients of the New Adventures Choreographer Award (NACA).
This year, John will be mentored by Matthew Bourne, his creative team, NACA judges and Re:Bourne to support the development of the work which will premiere in London in September 2014 at the NACA Showcase.
John's work is physically demanding with a strong theatrical element so applicants must be comfortable with using their voice and working theatrically.

Lîla dance is looking for 2 dancers for one week's R&D. Lîla has been researching into developing a new touring immersive theatre work since January and will end this process by working with new dancers for one week of R&D in April. The successful dancers may potentially work with the company to create a full length work in the summer (scheduled to tour from spring 2015).
Lîla dance makes physically charged dance theatre works with strong narrative content. The new work will engage with audiences and the community in unusual ways and requires dancers who can adapt quickly to new environments and circumstances and are confident teachers/leaders.
The company's work requires strong and versatile dancers who have strengths in improvisation, devising and spoken text. Strong contact improvisation and contemporary technique skills are absolutely necessary but we also welcome dancers who have additional skills in other dance genres.
