Artistic Director, Kristine Sommerlade, is looking for professional male/female dancers with a minimum of three years performance experience to join the Company from September 2008.

We need dancers with strong Contemporary/Ballet technique as well as excellent performance and teaching skills who have an interest in innovative and experimental forms of artistic practice.

Auditions will be held on:
Tuesday 24th June, Greenwich Dance Agency, London
Wednesday 25th June, Studio Hybrid, Brussels
Friday 27th June, Newcastle College, Newcastle upon Tyne

Audition is by invitation only.

Successful applicants will be invited to participate in a two -day workshop on 7th and 8th July 2008 at the company’s base in Stockton on Tees. The posts are subject to CRB enhanced disclosure. Tees Valley Dance is committed to equal opportunities.

Award-winning choreographer Thomas Small (currently Choreographer In Residence at The Space, Dundee) is holding an audition on Saturday 14th June at The Space, Dundee for male and female dancers to join his company, Smallpetitklein for a creation period this summer, an autumn tour of Scotland and a spring 2009 tour of the UK.

Applicants must have a minimum of three years professional experience, with strong classical & contemporary technique, strong physicality and teaching experience.

Surface Area Dance Theatre, Creative Director Nicole Vivien Watson is holding an audition at Dance City, Newcastle upon Tyne on June the 28th. The company is looking for an experienced, versatile and unique male dancer with stage experience and a strong technical training. Partnering and improvisation skills are essential.

Contracts run from the 28th of July –27th of September 2008 with performances on the 26th and 27th of September 2008.

Application dead line is 5pm on Friday the 20th of June.

Richard Alston Dance Company (UK)

Richard Alston Dance Company will be holding an audition for male dancers on Thursday 22 May, call-back Friday 23 May. The audition starts at 11am in the Robert Cohan Studio at The Place, London WC1.

We are looking for experienced males, with strong classical and modern technique. Contracts start mid-August 2008. Next season includes 2 new creations, approximately 30 touring performances, and London dates at Sadler's Wells and at The Place.

RADC is a ten-strong company, a chamber ensemble with each dancer taking on the responsibility of a soloist. The work is lyrical, articulate and often speedy, with a strong emphasis on musicality. Company contracts usually cover 45 weeks in the year, August - June.

Choreographer Jelka Milic is seeking for strong and versatile female contemporary dancers for the creation of a new work for The Place Prize 2008. All applicants must be London based and have completed a professional training in dance or related physical discipline, have devising skills and be of an extremely open nature.

Jelka Milic is seeking 2 different sets of performers: highly skilled in a variety of dance styles, and dancers with experience in partnering and contact improvisation. Rehearsals will take place in June and August with performances in September (dates to be confirmed).

State of Flux dancefilm company require professional contemporary dancers to collaborate in creating a dancefilm and animation installation.

You will need to be comfortable both speaking and performing in front of a camera and enjoy having input into the creative process.

Auditions, rehearsals and filming will be held in Norwich, Norfolk. You will need to be available on 17th May and 26th July – 19th August 08.

ReGina Wielingen (UK)

Choreographer ReGina Wielingen is looking for male and female dancers to fulfil a contract over the summer. Dancers need to have completed 3 years of professional education, have strong ballet and contemporary technique and take an interest in improvisation.

The audition is by invitation only and will be held on Saturday the 26th of April. The contract starts on the 26th of May and finishes in early August. I am working on a commision for Opera Holland Park based in London. I will be making a 20 to 30 minute work to Stravinksys Pulcinella, this is a one off production. This is seperate to the opera, but we will have life singers on stage. The rehearsal period is from May 26th till the end of July followed buy performances on July 25, 29, 31 August 2, 6*, 8. Artistic director Thierry Smits is looking for a female replacement dancer (min. age: 24; min. 165cm.) with strong classical & contemporary technique as well as strong performing skills. Very good English level is required (native or excellent level.)
