Balbir Singh Dance Company (UK)

Balbir Singh Dance Company seeks dancers with strong swimming skills for the company's large-scale water-based production Synchronised, a flagship performance project originally commissioned by imove as part of the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad.

Through Arts Council Strategic Touring funding the piece will be performing in summer 2014 in London, Leicester, Blackburn and Burnley.

Balbir Singh, one of the UK's leading choreographers, specialises in a unique synthesis of contemporary and Kathak dance, with original live music. Synchronised is an ambitious and innovative performance, bridging sport and art through synchronised swimming, classical Indian Kathak, contemporary dance and music.

Korhan Basaran Company is looking for male/female dancers for an upcoming project. Contract starts 10th May 2014. The rehearsal period / first performances will be in Istanbul and planning on a Fall Season 2014 in New York.

Jordan Massarella (UK)

Jordan Massarella is looking for four professional, creative and skilled contemporary dancers (Male & Female) to create a new work in August 2014. Jordan Massarella is one of the most exciting creative talents emerging from the Northern School of Contemporary Dance (NSCD) since graduation in 2010.

His most recent work '#Visitors', supported by Arts Council England, toured successfully and extensively in the north of England from July 2012 - September 2013.

The work also went to The Place, London in 2013 where it was performed at the prestigious Robin Howard Dance Theatre. Jordan was originally an associate artist at the NSCD and is currently New Associate with Yorkshire Dance. With a powerful sense of zeitgeist and popular culture, he creates evocative atmosphere through eclectic music, rich visuals and strong direction.

Jordan's work has been performed at The Riley Theatre (NSCD), The West Yorkshire Playhouse (Leeds), Unity Theatre (Liverpool) and The Linbury Studio Theatre, The Royal Opera House (London) to name but a few.

Applicants must be available from 11th August 2014 for two weeks, with further development work to be scheduled for the Autumn and Winter. The creative and production process will culminate in a string of performance dates scheduled for Spring 2015 (exact dates TBC)

This work is funding dependent and dates will be confirmed in June.

Applicants must enjoy a collaborative and creative approach in the studio and feel confident with speech and text. The audition is open to professionals as well as recent graduates and students in their final year of training.

All applicants will be expected to arrive at the audition with a copy of their C.V.

The audition will be held on Wednesday 23rd April 11.00am - 3.00pm at Yorkshire Dance, Leeds.

Jorge Crecis | SQx (UK)

Jorge Crecis | SQx has received Arts Council funding for his new work, 'Through & Out'. The work will explore the crossovers between rope-skipping and dance.

'Through & Out' will also be re-created with a large number of performers from the local community, commissioned by GDA for Big Dance South East London.

The project requires:

3 dancers, and 1 circus artist who is extremely skilful at skipping. This is for the creation of the work (3 weeks in May-June, dates TBC) and for the Big Dance re-creation (July 2014). Potential autumn/winter tour dates too.

2-4 dancers to act as facilitators and additional performers for the re-creation phase of the work (Big Dance, July 2014). This is a large-scale educational/participatory project so teaching/leading experience is essential. Must have a valid CRB or DBS.

Both male and female performers are invited to apply. Performers should be physically powerful, minimum age 22 with at least 2 year of professional experience. Experience of skipping is desirable but not essential, but a willingness to learn this new skill is vital. Please be aware that this project will involve a lot of jumping!

The audition is by invitation only and will be held in London on the 26th and 27th of April.

Regionteater Väst (Sweden)

Regionteater Väst is a touring dance company for children and young people in the region of Västra Götaland and occasionally in other parts of Sweden as well as abroad. We offer a broad repertoire for all kinds of venues. Further more we visit schools, libraries as well as offering outdoor performances.

RTV Dans is located in the very center of Borås, where we have rehearsal studios, administration and production facilities. Camilla Ekelöf is the artistic director for RTV Dans.

Currently we are looking for dancers for future productions. Audition will be held on Saturday May 17th, from 10 am-6 pm at Söderbrogatan 2 in Borås.

Can I Do This? and choreographer Sigge Modigh is auditioning dancers for the project "In the eyes of the beholders". A 60min piece for four dancers at Kungsbacka Theater, Sweden.

Applicants should be versatile with a strong classical and excellent contemporary technique. The work is highly physical and demanding from both a technical and theatrical point of view. Project time is August - September.

With possibilities of additional touring spring 2015. Audition will be held in Stockholm 27th of April.

Fertile Ground is a new graduate dance company that nurtures, challenges and inspires a new generation of dance artists and audiences by developing and presenting inspirational and accessible dance opportunities for the people of the North East of England.

We are launching our first season and are looking for four exceptional graduate or recent graduate dancers (male or female) strong in contemporary dance and with the ability to acquire new skills in the area of dance education, participatory and community work.

Brave, bold and ready to take risks you will work across the North East region in a variety of settings and in a variety of ways including performances, workshops and other events.
You should have completed (or are completing ) your undergraduate studies at one of the region's FE or HE Institutions or have completed High School studies in the NE region and have completed studies at Institutions elsewhere and are able to show a home address within the NE Region.

Dancers will receive internship/apprenticeship salaries.

Audition : Saturday June 7th 1.30 -5.30 Registration from 1pm

Place: Studio 1, Dance City, Temple Street, Newcastle NE14BR
