A few words about me!
Alice Wilkin's Blog || Sunday, 5 October, 2008
After reading Hannah Buckley's blogs for the past few months, I was inspired to also be able to express my thoughts via article19! So, like Hannah, I will start with a small introduction about myself.
My name is Alice Wilkins and I have recently just started at The Scottish School of Contemporary Dance, based at The Space, Dundee. I have joined straight into the second year of the course, which at first seemed slightly overwhelming considering the majority of the class will have danced together for a year previously. However, now I am five weeks into the course I feel more settled.
Previous to moving to Dundee I was a member of YYD (Yorkshire Young Dancers) an advanced training scheme for 13-17 years olds at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance, Leeds. I honestly believe the teaching and experience's I received in the one year I was on YYD was the reason I fell in love with contemporary dance.
I am still unsure as to what I will be able to offer article19, but I aim to inform others about what a dance student endures, and also to make others more aware of the Scottish School of Contemporary Dance and what it has to offer.
